Art Express is coming!
People with disabilities may or may not have language, and struggle with communicating what they feel and need. Fortunately, the creative art process engages people in expressing their thoughts, choice-making, and enhances cognitive and visual learning skills.
That’s why at Tavon Learning Center we are creating the Art Express Initiative. This initiative encourages adults with disabilities to use their artistic voice to express themselves, create understanding, and engage in the community around them. Members participate in hands-on activities including visual arts, dance and creative movement, and music therapy. Trips to museums and art studios, and visiting artist classes further enrich the program.
This empowering initiative launches February 2019. Over the holiday season, our goal is to raise $98,760 to provide 7,706 hours of Art Express programming in 2019 for adults with disabilities.
